Dawkins & Grey Solicitors
HISTORY
EMAIL

Dawkins & Grey was formed as a partnership shortly after the end of the Second World War when Geoffrey Grey joined David Dawkins in his legal practice. Over the following years there were relatively few changes in the partnership. Judith Bonegal and Roger Williams have been partners in the firm since 1983.

The Practice originally had offices in Colmore Row but in the summer of 1981, they moved to Great Charles Street, Birmingham. In November 2001, they then relocated to their present offices in the Jewellery Quarter.

The firm has traditionally performed a wide range of legal services commensurate with a firm of its size. However, following the appointment of Geoffrey Grey to the magistrates bench, the firm ceased carrying out any criminal work.

The firm has close connections with the Birmingham Law Society. Philip Richardson (a former partner and now Consultant in the firm) was first appointed joint Honorary Secretary in 1980 and he subsequently served as President of the Society from 1990 to 1991. Judith Bonegal is now one of the two joint Honorary Secretaries and has served in the post since 1994.

The firm has also been linked with consular activities. Following Geoffrey Grey's similar appointment, Philip Richardson was Consul for both Belgium a
nd the Netherlands in Birmingham. Roger Williams is now the Consul for the Netherlands.
